Project Scientist III – 1 (Gen)

Specific Roles & Responsibilities: The primary task is management of data center infrastructure including day-to-day monitoring and management of transformers, DGs, UPSes, chillers and other critical electrical components to keep the systems working 24/7. The infrastructure manager is also expected to play a primary role in monitoring and management of power and energy by the systems and designing for autonomous operations.

Educational qualification: A doctoral degree in engineering OR Masters (ME/MTech) in engineering with at least 6 years experience, hands-on familiarity with routine as well as sophisticated techniques at an advanced level in handling the above-mentioned infrastructure components. Specifically, the candidate must possess experience in managing a Tier-2 or higher data centre, as defined below :

Tier 1 – Non-redundant capacity components (single uplink and servers)

Tier 2 – Tier 1 +Redundant capacity components

Tier 3 – Tier 1 + Tier 2 + Dual – powered equipments and multiple uplinks

Tier 4 – Tier 1 +,Tier 2 + Tier 3 + all components are fully fault –tolerant including uplinks, storage, chillers , HVAC systems, servers etc. Everything is dual-powered

The candidate should have secured at least a first class in all the undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Desirable qualifications : Experience in managing a Tier-3 or higher data centre. 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in managing atleast a 100Tflops HPC centre supporting 50+ users.

Age Limit : Should not have completed 42 years as on the last date for receipt of application (relaxable under exceptional conditions).

Emoluments : Rs. 78000 + HRA per month.
