Applying for Matlab to SERC

In the below SERC webpage, chose if you need the “Concurrent License Activation” (for IISc network users) or “Designated Computer Activation” (for outside network).

Following are instructions for laptop for outside network. Follow the instructions in the above page in the section titled “Instructions – Requesting for Matlab Designated Computer Installation”

Click on the Student’s form or Employees’ form link, fill the details asked in the form including joining date and MAC address and click on “Submit”. This will lead to another page that once again asks for employee id and MAC address. Enter these and click on a button for “Generate pdf”. Get a pdf and send to the SERC sysadmin.

Setting Mathworks Credentials

As mentioned in the subsequent instructions in the section “Instructions – Requesting for Matlab Designated Computer Installation”, you would have got an email from Mathworks for resetting your password. Reset your password by clicking the link in the email, sign in to Mathworks and click on “Accept terms”.

 

Downloading Matlab

 Visit the following web page:

Click on the Matlab version link that is required. The following assumes Matlab R2019b link.

You will be lead to a web page. There click on the Installation Guide for Personal Laptop (Designated Computer) link.
