User Support And Training

To assist users in familiarization to the SERC Computing Facility, SERC routinely conducts user training programs.  Every year, two times with a gap of six months, SERC holds a training program called the “System Administration Training Programme”. The thrust of these programs is to train people in managing and running centers like SERC. I have been involved at various levels in SERC System administration trainee programs, from setting of question papers, being part of the interview committees, to teaching and training the candidates every year. Apart from this, I am also involved in giving lectures on using the SERC facility to new users. This is conducted under the “User Training Program” and the “Advanced User Training Program” of SERC. Recently, with the beginning of undergraduate science program in IISc, I have also participated in the “Undergraduate Students Education Program”.
